I discussed with Steve today about what we could do moving forward, as now we are at the cusp of really making the Synthetic Biology group work. I am reflecting today on structural changes we could make to the group.
We currently have 3 things/projects moving forward, they are Taking up the 2-Component-Biosignalling/Longterm Project, The Lab Workshop, and finally Registering an IG before the end of this month,
In the discussion we talked about :
1. Creating a Leadership Structure in the group as much as there are inherent cons i having a hireachy or defined roles , it would be nessacery that we have defined leadership roles members could take up so we could move forward faster. Having a good leadeship structure or exco is what makes the MAVEN IG sucessful. Having defined roles and an IG would give us pride and a stake in the IG.
2. Registering an IG
3. Always finding people who could help us and never giving up on the group, and every project and goal we start, in fact we have to grow the most keratinised and corned Epithelial Cornuem. This Means finsing help from as many people in shcool and even outside of school.
4. Having regular or biweekly discussions, activities, meetups, and learning opportunities which would facillitate interaction and opprotunities to learn. This was suggested by Steve who suggested modelling our group after Sports IG.
5. Doing stuff In-Silico, this was suggested by our Advisor Dr Ashray. This is quite exciting as we would be able to run "experiemts" outside the lab, hopefully we could find primitive ways to revisualize the Data in a more interesting media for fun.
6.Finally ,always trying to be the Best IG ever!!!!
7.Being Fun and interesting, this was suggested by ZX.
Hopefully after the ESE we could have a good meeting and get more recommendations and put them into action and Grow our group into somthing that we will be proud of and possibly have a big impact on Science at RP!
